Pallet Project 1 Herb Planter

Our first pallet project involved adding black fabric and dirt to make an herb planter.

Scrap Wood Project 1

We wanted to start with something simple so Maranda found a way to take paint sticks and turn them into an American Flag.

Here is the finished design.

The design came from Craft Cuts.com

Pump Technician Day 15 Final Day

Friday was very slow. I doped some pipes, and spray painted Strom Electric onto this tool kit. I left at 2:30. On Monday, I showed up and Todd fired me, but paid me for an 8 hour day. I was very grateful for the learning experiences and the people I met.

Pump Technician Day 14

Our project for the day involved wiring new electrical from the well and septic to the house.

TJ had me wire across the rafters. It reminded me of when I put 100 feet off ethernet cable to connect to a hub when installing the equipment for my dads EMR system.

I got to go into the crawl space to find conduit which I never found after six attempts.

I did find some poly tubing that the conduit was supposedly under and pulled it up to the hole in the wall which was completely unnecessary.

While I was trying to find the conduit TJ and Kurt installed the pipes to connect the cistern pump and install the floaters.

I got to watch a cool tractor filling in a foundation

Pump Technician Day 13

We went to a new subdivision where we installed new pipes into the cistern

Here are the new pipes.

Kurt and TJ put in a new pump for the well.

We installed a warning light and floaters to shut the pump off when the water reaches certain levels.

Pump Technician Day 12

We worked on Kenrick's well system which required removing the roof of the pump house.

Here is the roof lowered to the ground.

Here is the old setup.

Each pipe was 3 inches wide and 20 feet long.

Here are the pipes all laid out. They are around 43 years old.

Here is the pump and old wiring ready to be taken back to the shop.

Pump Technicician Day 11

These are the bits used in the drilling of the well. They were left at the job site.

I had to clear out the water to expose the pipe.

We put on a stop valve after melting the steel with a torch.

Here are the pipes laid out for the installation of the new pump.

Here is the new pump ready to be installed.

Kurt hooked up the pump to a generator and we waited 3 hours to do a flow test to see what the gallons per minute were. We were trying to run it dry, but that didn't happen.
